Jean Welles Worship Guitar Class for Kids is a fun fun program!!! My 7 year old and I absolutely loved learning to play the guitar with the Jean Welles videos. We were given a subscription to the streaming video lessons for the Kids Worship Guitar Class (a $28.00 value). This series contains 9 lessons, 9 practice sessions, and a 30 page e-book.
The lessons are nice and slow with very close-up videos. It’s clear on the placement of fingers and there’s plenty of time to ‘get’ the instruction before moving on to something new. Each lesson is accompanied by a practice video that will help your child practice all the new things learned in the lesson plus review any concepts learned beforehand.
The focus of this series is on worship. Not only is your child learning to play the guitar, they are learning to offer the sacrifice of worship to the Lord. Every practice session is begun in prayer. Jean’s desire to honor the Lord is all throughout this series and that’s what makes it so wonderful. It’s a genuine offering.
My son loved watching the videos and practicing the guitar. Each time he learned something new, I could see the joy all over his face. We would sit together at the computer and I would help him place his fingers in the correct position. With a little help, he was well on his way in minutes. Jean’s instructions were really easy for him to follow.
This series is available in dvd format ($29.97), streaming video ($28.00), or both ($33.00). I do wish I’d had the dvd format. It would definitely be easier for us to practice in front of the tv instead of the laptop computer. Jean offers packages with guitars and all the trimmings as well. You can find information about those on the website.
I would definitely purchase another series. In fact, I’m thinking about getting the adult Worship Guitar Class series for the rest of us!
You can try the first lesson of this series for free here and download the first 15 pages of the e-book. Jean’s series comes with a full one year money back guarantee, too! Next we’re tackling the piano!
