With so much of our nation’s history being washed down the tubes it’s refreshing to get ahold of products like Presidential Penmanship. I was recently informed by a local college student who is working towards her teaching degree that one of our local schools does not teach history in the 3rd grade. AT ALL. This young woman has worked with the school district for years and in particular this third grade classroom. The school teaches to the test. You know, the big test by which the district is graded and funded??? How incredibly sad to be a student in that school!!! I mean, seriously?? No history at all???!!! What’s wrong with this country? Money and “me”, I believe are the answers to that question, but I must move on or I’ll need something stronger than this tea to calm me down!

One of my favorite things to do is work with the kids on memorizing the passage they’ve been writing that week. We don’t make it a big deal but it’s fun to see who can recite it by the week’s end. Sometimes I’ll offer a treat to the one who’s writing is the neatest and a treat to the one who can recite the passage.
Homeschooling doesn’t have to be expensive. When you can find good products that will carry you all the way through high school, it’s well worth looking into them further. Presidential Penmanship would be a great program for anyone looking to spend as little as possible on curriculum. There’s no sacrifice of quality in Zeezok’s handwriting program and it’s extremely cost effective. We’ll be using Presidential Penmanship year after year.
