Gosh it’s been insanely busy around here. We’ve had craft sales, Christmas parties, family gatherings, birthdays, etc. all jammed into a couple weeks. Not to mention school or present-making!
Actually it’s the present-making I’m talking about today. This year almost every present we gave/will give for the holidays has been handmade. Abs and I spent a week doing some hard core crafting on mini albums and since the gift has been given, I can finally share my favorite one with you. I absolutely love this mini album!
It was inspired by Laura at Following the Paper Trail and her beaded mini album. Most of the papers, stickers, and die-cuts are from Colorbok’s Woodland set. The letter stickers above on the front cover were from an old NSD DaisyD’s set I got years ago.
I love the way this album goes together. The pockets are super simple to construct and lend themselves easily to a variety of pretreatments with edge punches, stamping, distressing, etc. Let your imagination run wild here.
The interactivity level of this album is fairly high which makes it so much fun to flip through.
I believe the mushroom paper is my absolute favorite. I’m a sucker for mushrooms.
The back cover has a small pocket for storing little trinkets.
Most all the embellishments I used in this album that weren’t die-cuts were things I found in my stash. Always nice to use some of that cool stuff I tend to save for ‘something special’.
These letter stickers are one of my favorite embellishments in the album. I’m not even sure where I got them but they’ve been in my stash for a few years. I’ve used one or two here and there and they were perfect for this album. When you get to this page you just can’t resist running your fingers over them.
This was another fun thing I found in my stash – a looking glass! Actually I found three and I can’t remember at all who made these. Of course, the packaging was gone.
Anyhoo, this was such a fun project to complete. So many things to touch and take in as you look through. I can’t wait to see it again filled with pictures.
Aren’t these brads cute? So elegant. I love the paper and felt flower pieces mixed together.
All this paper crafting has resurrected my desire for more scrapping. At one time, this was a business for me and I really enjoyed it. After several years of dealing with a difficult company and some personal turmoil, I called it quits with a heavy heart.
Time has healed a lot of wounds in this area and I think I’m ready to get back to it. Plans for a spring retreat are in the works so stay tuned for more details!
