We are in full swing this week with plenty of work to do.
This week we started a new Bible study for our evening Bible time lessons. We are using the New Testament Overview from Grapevine Studies. If you’ve not seen these, you must check them out. We are taking a trip through the entire New Testament with stick-figure drawings. I’ll give a full report on this new study we’re doing in a later post, but for now, just know that it’s worth checking out.
Beans just finished Book 1 of his Horizons Math lessons. Boy, is he proud! Okay, so it took us all year to get through half the series… that’s fine. I didn’t have any hard core goals for him this year other than just learning the routines of a school day. As a fidgety little boy, his main requirements were learning how to sit still, obey instruction and focus. He’s progressing well in these things.
Zion and Abigail are plugging along with science and math each day. We are continuing on with our history readings also – something we are all enjoying very much.
I just received the Girl’s Edwardian Apron Pattern from Sense & Sensibility this weekend. I’ve admired their patterns for a long time and am so excited to finally sew one up. Abigail has been needing a new apron for some time now. She will be picking out the fabric for this project and, hopefully, it will be a good learning experience for her. Fortunately, I also got the eclass to go with the pattern. Pics will be posted just as soon as we’re finished.
The littles began reading The Wizard of Oz today. I went back to look at my resources for this one and wasn’t impressed with what I had. So, this means good news for you! I’m putting together a whole new list of resources and activities categorized by chapter – Woot! Things are going really well with the list so far. Perhaps, I’ll put them up one chapter at a time and you can read along with us? hmm… I’ll see about that. Look for a “chapter 1” post later this week.
Until then, do you have a great resource you could share for The Wizard of Oz? Please let me know with a comment.
