I was introduced a few months back to Homeschool Library Builder through the TOS Homeschool Review Crew. I had never heard of them before so I was eager to zip on over to their website and check it out.
Homeschool Library Builder is an online store that offers new and used literature books for bargain prices. They have a great selection of quality literature – a good amount of it is out-of-print material. I spent, literally, hours looking through the selections available on my first visit. I absolutely love books so this isn’t a real shocker, but I should’ve known better. When the website specifically mentioned curriculums such as Five In a Row, Sonlight, Ambleside Online and Tapestry of Grace my internal curriculum shopping alarm should’ve sounded violently in my head!
But alas, I couldn’t resist when I got to the part about earning shopping points for the books I purchase. It was all my thrifty homeschooling mind needed for permission to browse.
Ultimately, I walked away with only three purchases. (haha) I found some wonderful books for our study of early American history – one of which is a part of a series I’ve been collecting. Yay, Homeschool Library Builder! : ) The purchasing was a breeze and the books arrived in just a few days in the condition they were described. I will definitely keep my eye on the selections available at HSLB and continue purchasing from them.
Another thing I really enjoyed on the site is the HSLB Marketplace. This is where families can get a little free advertisement for their home businesses. I love this! Anytime I can give my money to a family trying to make a living together for a service or product I need, I’m just ecstatic. Anything to help the ‘family’ remain a family. Please take time to look through the HSLB Marketplace and see if you can support one of them!
If you’re in the market for some great literature or curriculum, I highly recommend Homeschool Library Builder. They are a great source for those diamonds in the rough we sometimes have trouble mining anywhere else! : )
