Sweet corn! I love sweet corn. In fact, my husband calls me Sweet Corn as a pet name. (I don’t know. He’s odd.) Well, it’s official. We have cucumbers! : ) My favorite two things of summer – fresh homegrown cucumbers and tomatoes. I really think I could live on them. The kids and I picked about 4 the other day when we were out watering the garden and there were quite a few that looked like they’d be ready by the weekend. It’s summertime!!!
Okay so for us, summertime just really means lots of air conditioning and doing extra fun stuff on the weekends. We’re still plugging away at schoolwork every day, but it’s seems like we’ve finally hit a nice stride. Funny, huh? So as I’m browsing around this morning with my morning coffee I get the most awesome message. Raising Olives is giving away an ERGO baby carrier!!! We are expecting another child come November and seeing as how it’s been 6 years since we’ve birthed a little one, we’re pretty much starting over. Wouldn’t an ERGO be super duper nice?? summer, garden and news…
The first day of summer and it’s already well into the 90’s here. Everything in the garden is green and huge. The cucumbers have just about taken over everything. The tomato plants are getting taller than me and the potatoes are in desperate need of more covering. Believe it or not the lettuce is still hanging around though I noticed today those heads I should’ve picked yesterday were taste-tested by the woodchuck living under our shed.
