Today I get to share something really fun with you. I’ve been sitting on this project for about a month now and I’ve been dying to share it! I made it as a gift for my mother-in-law so I had to keep it secret everywhere or she would surely see it. A seaside lighthouse with a mini album.
The lighthouse …
Ta da! Isn’t this fun? I adore this project. It was simple. It was easy. It looks way more complicated than it really is which makes me look brilliant. haha But I can’t take much credit for this beautiful thing. Jim, the gentleman crafter, is the designer and he did a fabulous job. I discovered the lighthouse on Etsy in Jim’s shop and was immediately taken by it. I knew right away that I just had to make this project.
As much as I love all things Graphic45, I was hesitant about using the same collection Jim chose. Since this was a gift, I had to consider it’s recipient and felt that a more muted collection would be a better fit. Hobby Lobby to the rescue – I found the gorgeous Paper Studio Beach House paper stack in both 12×12 and 8×8. I knew this was the right one. Paired up with some fun things I’ve been collecting along the way, I ended up with a really beachy lighthouse and mini album.
Take a closer look…
The size of this thing is pretty impressive. I like the shells on the bases. I attached these with Glossy Accents.
This is a drawer in the base of the lighthouse perfect for another mini album or some seashells maybe?
The Lighthouse is lit with a battery-operated tealight that flickers like a candle.
A great little night light…
Inside the topper…
Here you can see how the pieces come apart.
Inside the tower, you can see the mini attached to the wall with skewers.
I adore these charms! They are from Spare Parts at Hobby Lobby. The Lighthouse pendant I picked up at JoAnn’s.
I left the pages fairly plain because my mother-in-law is a paper crafter. I know she will be able to add more specific touches to go with her photos using her supply of stamps, stickers, and letters better than my guessing.
The little photo mats you see here are from a paper called Summertime. It was apart of the Pier collection by Crate Paper. Great collection, by the way.
